Edward Henderson received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Tulane University in 1967. He briefly taught at Westminster College in Missouri and then joined the philosophy faculty at LSU. He served as Department Chair for the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies from 1979 to 2001 and held the title of Professor from 1992 until his retirement in May 2012. He is now Professor Emeritus and Department Chair Emeritus. During his time at LSU, Dr. Henderson helped to create courses in the Honors Division, which eventually led to the creation of the Honors College where he held the title of Associate Dean.
