Qian leads the graduate programs in Educational Technology in LSU's Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education. Her scholarship spans emerging technologies and pedagogy, instructional design, and technology leadership. Her recent research focuses on AI models, prompt engineering, human-robot collaboration, and AI policy, literacy, and pedagogy.
Geist will address critical issues in STEM education for young children at the 11th International Academic Conference on Education. The conference brings together an international audience of academics, nongovernmental organizations and policy professionals.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Terri P. Ricks, PhD, JD, Senior Assistant Dean for Administration in LSU's College of Human Sciences & Education, delivered the opening keynote address for the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education's (AAACE) 2026 Virtual Conference, held September 18 as part of the organization's centennial celebration. Ricks earned her PhD in Leadership and Human Resource Development from LSU's School of Leadership & Human Resource Development (SLHRD) in 2026.
A $744,660 U.S. National Science Foundation award will fund an inter-disciplinary project between LSU College of Engineering, LSU College of Human Sciences & Education, and LSU College of Art & Design who will explore how digital twin technology can help undergraduate students develop the holistic thinking skills needed to address increasingly complex challenges in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC).
Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education faculty, Margaret-Mary Sulentic Dowell, PhD, Cecil "Pete" Taylor Endowed Professor and director of the LSU Writing Project, was selected as a Writer-in-Residence for the Earnest Oberholtzer Foundation.
This summer, LSU School of Information Studies students traveled across Scotland and England as part of the Libraries in the UK study abroad program. Led by Jennifer Steele, the four-week experience gave students hands-on opportunities to explore libraries, archives and cultural institutions while gaining new perspectives on their field. The program also marked the first time LSU Online students could participate in an SIS study abroad experience, allowing remote students to connect with classmates in person while learning abroad.
