The Rucks Department of Management at the E. J. Ourso College of Business acknowledges outstanding students as Rucks Fellows. These students are chosen by the faculty and represent the highest level of academic achievement among senior management majors in any of the department's concentrations. To be eligible, the student must be among the top graduating seniors in the management curriculum based on their grade-point average; honorees are announced in the fall and spring semesters.

The Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) awarded LSU Boyd Professor Emeritus Art Bedeian its prestigious Taylor Key Award at the SAM International Business Conference on March 22 in Orlando, FL.

LSU Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) major Daniel Lichowid Jr. placed third in the 2024 Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Cyber Threat Competition, held at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas from Feb. 15-17. Out of approximately 1,500 students, Lichowid was one of 60 individuals to move onto the final round, cementing himself in the top 5% of all participants.

Tickets are now on sale for the LSU Flores MBA Association's 8th Annual Spring Gala on April 19 at Capital Park Museum at 7 p.m.. Proceeds from this year's event will support the programs of the Baton Rouge Youth Coalition (BRYC).

The Department of Economics within the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business launched the Louisiana Economy Forecasting Model in 2023 as a service to the state.

Mitch Mason might have felt like a fish out of water getting into the sea of entrepreneurship. The LSU swimmer headed to Baton Rouge as a mechanical engineering major with no real business experience. However, thanks to an engineering design assignment in high school, Mason had an idea that was primed for success.

To support the Geaux Communicate initiative, LSU recently launched the inaugural Communication-Intensive (C-I) Teaching Fellows program. In collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner, faculty chair of Communication across the Curriculum (CxC), the Teaching Fellows are working to inform, create, and disseminate innovative teaching development resources across campus, all in support of advancing undergraduate communication skills development.

For many, the thought of leaving everything behind to embark on a journey to Europe may seem like a distant dream. But for Kaleb Huckeba (BS Accounting '17, MAcc '18) and Reka Perry (BS Accounting '15, Macc '16), this dream became a reality as the couple took a risk to pursue their passion for living abroad.
