Introductory Field Camp
Start your geology journey with an adventure that begins online and leads you straight into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Spend two weeks preparing virtually, then three unforgettable weeks exploring and mapping at LSU’s spectacular field station near Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Program Components
GEOL 1001 Prerequisite Online
May 26 – June 12, 2026 (tentative)
Take the GEOL 1001 prerequisite online during the two weeks prior to camp.
Field Camp Experience
June 12 – July 3, 2026
Take GEOL 1003 (and 1601 and 1602) as a field-based course at LSU’s field station outside Colorado Springs, CO. It is a 3-week field class, and the only extra cost is travel to and from Colorado plus tuition. Room, board, and food paid for by our incredible alumni and donors!
