Rock and Mineral Identification
Do you have a rock or mineral that you are looking to identify? We can help you with that! For help with rock and mineral identification, contact Andrew Webb (awebb6@lsu.edu) and he will help you get started with identifying your sample.
Do you think you have a meteorite?

Willamette Meteorite found in Oregon. The largest meteorite found in the North America.
Every year the LSU Department of Geology & Geophysics is contacted by hundreds of people who think they have found, inherited, or purchased a meteorite. We are NOT able to issue any type of certificate of authenticity or proof that what you have found (inherited or purchased) is in fact a meteorite.
