Standards & Recognition Program (STAR)

Excellence in Community

We care deeply about the well-being of our students and our campus community. LSU fraternity and sorority members thrive in an environment where chapters and leadership prioritize member safety and wellbeing, personal development, and campus and community involvement.

To further this commitment and ensure accountability and transparency, every fraternity and sorority must annually submit materials that focus on the Values and Standards of LSU Greek Life through the Standards & Recognition Program (STAR). Chapters are assigned a one through five STAR level based on the community values and standards of health, safety, and wellbeing, membership education, and participation and involvement.

STAR Program Goals

  • Provide guidance for chapter operational success based on the three sets of Values & Standards of Greek Life at LSU:
  • Assess chapters based on the Values & Standards of Greek Life at LSU.
  • Recognize high-performing chapters and identify areas of development for under-performing chapters
  • Hold chapters accountable to all values, standards, and minimum community expectations.
  • Encourage all chapters to seek five start status.
