University College Scholarships

Incoming Freshman

Scholarships awarded by University College require no formal application.  Information is queried from the LSU Student Aid and Scholarship office to determine the students who meet the criteria for each scholarship, then a committee reviews the information from the qualifying lists.  Committee review and selection is based on the criteria set forth by each scholarship.

Delise-Bordelon Family Scholarship

Amount varies depending on scholarship earnings. Open to a full-time LSU freshman who has only one parent (a single parent family). Preference will be given to a student with a parent who is deceased and student must demonstrate a financial need. To receive the scholarship, the recipient must be enrolled full-time at LSU and be in good academic standing at time of the award. This award is not renewable.

 

Vincent E. Cangelosi Scholarship

Open to entering freshman who graduated in top 15% of high school class with a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and an SAT score of 1100 or above or an ACT composite score of 25 or above. Leadership activities and financial need are also considerations. To receive the scholarship, student must be enrolled full-time at LSU, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and be in good standing at time of the award. Amount varies depending on earnings of scholarship. This award is not renewable.

 

Marjorie Longsdorf Scholarship

Open to full-time freshman who is a graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School or another East Baton Rouge Parish High School and who plans to major in Education. Scholarship will be awarded over two semesters. To receive the scholarship, student must be enrolled full-time at LSU, plan to major in Education, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be in good standing at time of the award. Amount varies depending on earnings of scholarship.  This award is not renewable.

Anthony J. Losavio Scholarship

Open to full-time freshman with composite ACT of 22-28. Must be a graduate of a Louisiana high school. In addition, student may not hold another scholarship, with the exception of TOPS, but may have a grant, financial aid, or an on-campus job. Financial need, academic ability, and activities that develop leadership and responsibility are also considerations. To receive the scholarship, student must be enrolled full-time at LSU, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and be in good standing at time of the award. Amount varies depending on earnings of scholarship. This award is not renewable.

Josephine R. Losavio Scholarship

Open to full-time freshman with composite ACT of 22-28. Must be a graduate of a Louisiana high school. King Sollberger Scholarship

Amount varies depending on scholarship earnings. Open to full-time freshman who is a resident of Louisiana or Mississippi with at least a 2.5 GPA and of "good moral character." Financial need is also a consideration. To receive the scholarship, student must be enrolled full-time at LSU, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and be in good standing at time of the award. This award is not renewable.
