Curriculum Vitae

Research & Teaching

Dr. Cynthia Sampson (she/her) got her PhD in Communication Studies from LSU in 2020. Her research focuses on audiences, fan studies, and media literacy. That basically means she likes to watch a lot of TV and hang out in some weird parts of the Internet.

She's been teaching for almost a decade now but is still learning every semester. Gloria Ladson-Billings, Eugenia Zuroski, and the collaborations of Deanna Fasset and John Warren have been immensely influential to her pedagogical approach. Dr. Sampson is excited to be stepping into the role of Director of Basic Courses.
