CHE 4162 – Unit Operations Laboratory (UO Lab)
The capstone hands-on experience in chemical engineering at LSU is the UO Lab. Placed at the culmination of the curriculum, success in this course demands that students bring together all they have learned thus far. For more than a decade now, Dr. Toups has served as the instructor of record and has transformed this course from a more traditional rotation of experiments to a gauntlet of complex open-ended problem-based learning cycles under the mentorship of multiple faculty and industry-seasoned professionals, always with an eye to enhancing student process safety awareness, knowledge and ethic.
