On behalf of the faculty and staff I would like to welcome you to the Flagship School of Social Work in Louisiana.
Our world-class faculty teach across three degree programs: Child and Family Studies (CFS), MSW, and Ph.D. in Social Work. Through our educational programs we dedicate ourselves to the instruction, development, and dissemination of evidence-informed knowledge to prepare highly competent, effective, and ethical professionals to serve diverse, vulnerable, and impoverished populations. Our school is aligned with various agencies across the state and region-- which strategically positions our faculty and students as leaders in the study and advancement of key social conditions affecting the state of Louisiana. Our graduates inform the collective response to today’s critical social issues and that response impacts our work as is reflected in our academic mission, research, field placements, and community outreach. For 75 years the School of Social Work at Louisiana State University has been at the forefront of social justice in the region—we look forward to moving that tradition into the 21st century.
