Awards + Scholarships
SLIS Graduate Assistantships
Applicants and students will be notified whenever a SLIS Graduate Assistantship becomes available. Recipients must be physically located in the Baton Rouge area and available to work 20 hours per week. The assistantships include a tuition remission and a stipend per fiscal year. Out-of-state students who are awarded a graduate assistantship are also granted a nonresident fee exemption.
SLIS Travel Awards
SLIS provides a limited number of awards to help to defray the costs of travel to conferences and other professional meetings. Information can be found at SLIS Travel Awards.
SLIS offers a number of scholarships each fall. Applicants must have completed at least six hours of SLIS courses and have an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
The scholarships are simply listed below. The application for scholarships will be sent to all current students in late August.
