The Office of Academic Affairs is happy to welcome you back to a new school year.
We are excited to see familiar faces and are looking forward to welcoming our new
Tigers on campus - especially the 157 new faculty and our freshman class that comprises
one of the largest and most diverse incoming classes in the history of the university.
Over the summer, LSU has taken great strides in offering new degree programs to better
accommodate bachelor's, master's, and PhD students and has also merged programs to
reflect the ever-changing dynamic of the traditional and nontraditional student. Furthermore,
our office, in partnership with programs across campus, will offer a robust faculty
development plan to advance and enhance our faculty's teaching and research endeavors.
As part of that plan, you will receive monthly newsletters from our office with important
dates and communication pieces to keep you best informed.
It is our focus to attract and retain the world's brightest students, and without
the unwavering support from our faculty and staff, this would not be possible. We
thank you all for your continued efforts to make LSU home for students near and far,
and we wish you a productive and successful school year.
Sincerely,
The Office of Academic Affairs
