The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana has granted summary judgment in favor of LSU and dismissed all claims by Teresa Buchanan in her lawsuit against university administrators.
Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne will keynote for the Louisiana Redistricting Summit at LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication. The summit will feature dialogue from top Louisiana leaders on redistricting in Louisiana, an issue which shapes future elections and influences who represents Louisiana’s citizens locally, in Louisiana’s state legislature, and in Congress. The summit will feature nationally-renowned redistricting thought leaders, university students from around the state, and a bipartisan group of Louisiana legislators.
Twenty students were recently inducted into the LSU College of Engineering’s Order of the Engineer, an honorific awarded to selected students to “foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer.”
The LSU Women’s Center will honor Women’s History Month on Friday, March 16, at its sixth annual Esprit de Femme Awards Sunrise Celebration. This year’s awards ceremony will be held at L’Auberge Casino Hotel in Baton Rouge, beginning at 8 a.m. with a networking coffee and jewelry pull hosted by event sponsor, Kendra Scott. All proceeds from the Sunrise Celebration will support the mission and initiatives of the Women’s Center.

Robert F. O’Connell, PhD, LSU Boyd professor, has retired after a distinguished career as a researcher, administrator and mentor. He joined the faculty of the LSU Department of Physics & Astronomy in January 1964 as a tenure-track assistant professor.
