Library Operations During COVID-19
In accordance with the Phase 2 directive for LSU Libraries, beginning June 8, 2020, the SVM Library will offer pick-up of print materials to faculty and graduate students on designated days/times. An LSU ID card must be presented to pick up reserved books.
If there are no advanced requests, the SVM Library will remain closed. Requests for material pick-up should be made via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) in advance of the designated pickup time; no walk-up requests will be accepted. Materials should be returned to the purple SVM Library Dropbox located outside the main entrance of the SVM building.
The designated days/times for SVM Library material pick-up beginning June 8 will be:
- Mondays between 1 pm and 3 pm
- Thursdays between 1 pm and 3 pm
In accordance with the LSU Phase 2 guidelines, masks are required when visiting the library and the 6-foot social distancing rule must be followed when waiting in line.
Access to all digital resources will continue as usual. Many of the SVM Library’s resources are available online and should cover the majority of information needs. Print materials can be requested via email email@example.com and will be available for pick-up on Mondays and Thursdays between 1 pm and 3 pm, when there are requests made in advance.
Ebooks from the Library's Permanent Reserves Collection, and Online Educational Resources
Since the SVM Library’s Permanent Reserve print collection contains the SVM required textbooks and our most current editions, we have compiled a spreadsheet of those titles that are currently available electronically. Access to 144 of the permanent reserve titles is available through LSU Libraries. In order to make accessing these eBooks as seamless as possible, we included links to all the titles available electronically through the LSU Libraries.
We have also compiled a list of helpful online educational resources on various veterinary topics.
