Job Description

We are an AAHA hospital currently looking to add an additional veterinarian to our practice. It is located in Northeast Texas midway between Dallas and Louisiana. The facility was recently rebuilt and expanded and is about 5,400 sq feet. It has a large animal area and small animal surgery room, 4 exam rooms, onsite IDEXX laboratory, coggins lab and rehabilitation facility with 2 certified rehab therapists. There is at least one small and one large animal tech per veterinarian. We stress continuing education and professional improvement yet also stress the importance of family. Emergency calls average a few each week on an average annual basis. The associate is paid the emergency fee and mileage if offsite. Work week is forty hours per associate which includes some Saturdays. We do a minimal number of emergencies, and want to keep it that way. We want people to work hard during business hours, then enjoy your personal time after.  It should be rare to stay late after office hours.

As stated above, we are an exclusive IDEXX facility and have their latest products to use. We use IDEXX Cornerstone and are paper-lite. We have a mobile CR digital radiograph system and digital ultrasound. We have an orthopedic surgeon on staff with full power orthopedic equipment. All anesthetized animals are on IV catheter and fluids. You will not go on a call or see an appointment without a technician to assist. I'm the first to admit this style practice is not for everyone, nor is it for every situation, but it's how we choose to do it, and are looking for associates that want to practice at this level.

Base salary will be based on VHMA standards in relation to experience.

In addition to salary, we offer a simple IRA match, Health insurance, Association dues, Malpractice insurance, All licenses, Continuing education allowance, and 2 weeks paid vacation with a personal day each year.

Our goal as a practice is to commit to having the best infrastructure, equipment, and staff we can. We are wanting the same from associates and are insistent on finding people that truly like practicing veterinary medicine.
