Job Description

River Oak Veterinary Hospital is seeking an associate veterinarian to add to their two doctor practice. River Oak is a primarily a small animal practice with occasional work in exotic and small ruminant veterinary medicine. Located just a few minutes north of Modesto, California, this growing city is situated in the San Joaquin Valley on the Stanislaus River, between San Francisco and Yosemite National Park. Qualified applicants must have either a DVM or VMD with a passing score on the NAVLE or NBE/CCT. Graduates of PAVE or ECFVG programs will also be considered  Applicants will need to acquire a California Veterinary License or enroll in a temporary licensure program.

General Internship Information

  • 50% ambulatory/50% in hospital---the intern is in charge of overseeing all hospital patients, including organizing morning treatments, evaluating and SOAPing daily.
  • Supervision for hospital calls. Most ambulatory calls will be solo, although assistance is always available through the intern and back-up staff veterinarian
  • Intern participates in a rotating on-call and anesthesia schedule

EQUINE VETERINARY ASSOCIATE Pacific Crest Equine has an opening for an Associate Veterinarian, with a desire to join a progressive practice dedicated to excellence in both veterinary medicine and client care.  Our clients represent a wide variety of disciplines that range from high level dressage and western performance to pleasure, trail, and beloved pets. 

Our facilities consist of a surgical suite, two exam and treatment rooms, 4 stall indoor intensive care unit, 13 stall barn, individual stallion stalls and collection facilities, as well as lameness evaluation area and round pen.  On-site diagnostic and treatment capabilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, gastroscopy, lameness locator, full in-house laboratory, and regenerative medicine.  We have two fully equipped mobile units to facilitate our ambulatory care, which accounts for approximately 50% of our cases.

The successful applicant will be someone that can not only attend to the needs of the equine patient, but seeks to care for and educate their owners as well.  The case load would include general practice with an emphasis in dentistry and wellness.
