The Haber and Schneider research groups examined acetaminophen-induced changes in the adsorption and transport properties of malachite green isothiocyanate dye to the surface of unilamellar 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC) liposomes in an aqueous colloidal suspension using time-resolved SHG spectroscopy.

Research Highlights
The facile synthesis of a family of highly emissive and tunable BOPHY fluorescent dyes were developed by the Vicente and Smith research groups using tetrafluoroisoindole building block. Besides NIR bioimaging, these new dyes also exhibit great potential in acid-base reversible sensing and bioconjugation with thiols through regioselective fluorine substitution.
A team of eight graduate students in CHEM7750 published a mini-review article that was featured on the cover of ACS Omega in October 2021. The invited, open-access publication highlights the versatility for measurements which apply the scanning probe microscopy mode of force volume mapping (FVM) for characterizing chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties at the nanoscale.
