Traditional Housing

Traditional housing options simply mean the residence hall is not tied to a specific academic theme and is open to all majors. All traditional halls are open to first-year students. A select few traditional halls are also options for upperclassmen. 

Acadian Hall at LSU

Acadian Hall

Located in the heart of campus, Acadian Hall features two-student rooms and community-style bathrooms. Most rooms have sinks in them, and students love the large courtyard and walk-in closets. 

Annie Boyd Hall at LSU

Annie Boyd Hall

As a traditional hall completely renovated in 2012, Annie Boyd Hall is a popular option for students desiring a suite-style bathroom on the east side of campus. WIth its small size, large front porch, and group study rooms, Annie Boyd Hall has everything students need for a community atmosphere.

Blake Hall at LSU

Blake Hall*

Blake Hall is centrally located on Campus Lake and close to the the Student Union and The 459 Commons dining hall. The 4-story wing features two-student rooms with community-style bathrooms, while the three-story wing has two-student, suite-style bathrooms.

Herget Hall U

Herget Hall is located on Campus Lake next to Miller Hall and Greek Row, making it a popular choice for men and women interested in Greek Life at LSU. Also close to the University Recreational Center and the walking and bike trails along the University Lake, Herget Hall provides easy access to recreational activities for residents in two-student and four-student rooms with community-style bathrooms.

Kirby Smith Hall

Kirby Smith Hall reopened for occupancy in fall 2011 after extensive improvements to the building, bedrooms, and suite bathrooms. Students enjoy the suite-style rooms and bathrooms and the proximity to The 5 dining hall, athletic venues, The Quad, and Middleton Library.

McVoy Hall at LSU

McVoy Hall

Students love the convenient location of McVoy Hall – right next to The 459 Commons dining hall with lake access and a short walk to the Student Rec Center. The two-student rooms feature a wall of closets and separate sleep and study areas.

Miller Hall at LSU

Miller Hall

Miller Hall is the only all-female residence hall on campus and is popular with women participating in Greek Life at LSU. Students can choose from two-student, three-student, and four-student rooms with community-style bath.

The Pentagon Community at LSU

The Pentagon Community: U
Beauregard, Jackson, Taylor, and LeJeune Halls

The Pentagon Community is a picturesque living area consisting of four residence halls – Beauregard Hall, Jackson Hall, LeJeune Hall, and Taylor Hall – and an activity center surrounding a grass and brick courtyard that gives residents a truly unique living experience in vertical stacks on the west side of campus.

The ROTC House is also housed in this community.

Spruce Hall*

Spruce Hall is the newest addition to the on-campus inventory. Opening in fall 2018, Spruce Hall will mimic Cypress Hall's layout and aesthetic with two-student, suite-bath style of rooms.
