Internal Opportunities for LSU Faculty

Travel Support Grants

The Office of Research & Economic Development has several internal grant programs to support faculty travel in the service of research. Faculty travel grants provide up to $750 in matching funds for domestic and international travel in support of research related travel. Funds for undergraduate research travel support are also available, as are funds for travel between Southeastern Conference member schools.

Equipment Purchase and Repair Programs

The Office of Research & Economic Development administers several programs that support the acquisition and repair of shared equipment and technology. They include:

  • Equipment Repair Fund
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance Fund for Federally Funded Projects
  • Capital Equipment Match Fund

Faculty Research Grant Programs

The Faculty Research Grant program is intended to provide seed funding for new research projects, or to provide resources for major planning grants with the goal of creating opportunities for center-scale funding and groundbreaking research. 

Summer Stipend Program

PLEASE NOTE: The Summer Stipend Program has been suspended for the 2019 cycle. No applications will be accepted for this program at this time.

LSU Biomedical Collaborative Research Program

LSU, the Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC), and LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) School of Medicine are soliciting collaborative applications between campus researchers for pilot funding consideration. The goal of this program is to promote interdisciplinary and other team approaches to biomedical research.

HuRRI | Hurricane Resilience Research Institute Seed Funding

HuRRI is a multi-state, multi-organization national center of excellence in resilience, advancing our nation's ability to mitigate, assess, predict, protect, educate and recovery from hurricanes and severe storms for the purpose of creating and sustaining resilient communities. A collaboration between LSU, University of Miami, Texas-Tech, University of Texas-Tyler, University of Houston and University of Florida, the mission of HuRRI is to serve as the premier resource for envisioning, promoting and institutionalizing hurricane resilience culture, knowledge, solutions and tools.
