There are many on-campus development opportunities available that are no cost to LSU employees. A full list of professional and workplace development course descriptions can be found on this page. 

To register for HRM Training Programs:

  1. Log in to myLSU*
  2. Click on Employee Resources
  3. Click on Training and Development
  4. Click the "Training and Event Registration" button.
  5. Find the course title and click "View Classes"
  6. Click the date you would like to sign up for
  7. Click Register

*You will immediately receive an email confirmation of the registered course.  

HPC Training

Financial Education Series 2022

The Office of Human Resource Management is partnering with Campus Federal Credit Union to offer a newly revised and redesigned Financial Education Series aimed at increasing financial literacy and developing better money habits. This 6-part series will be offered live virtually via Zoom from 12:00 - 1:00pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month starting in May. Register for the sessions through the Training & Event Registration Site by searching Financial Education Series. Take one session that interests you or take all six! Whether this is your first time learning about your money, wealth, and finance or if you use this series as a refresher, we highly encourage everyone at LSU to attend this series!

  • May 19: Banking 101 - Recording

    Learn how to have a healthy banking relationship with topics such as understanding the different between financial institutions and alternative banking sources, basic banking terms, how savings and checking accounts work, and the benefits of paying yourself first. 

  • June 16: Budgeting: Turning Financial Fears to Wealthy Wins - Recording

    Creating a personalized spending plan for your money can help ensure there is enough money to pay for food, bills, and other expenses. In this session, boost your financial confidence by learning how to prepare a budget, the benefits of budgeting and how to use budgeting tools to manage your finances.

  • July 21: More Than a Number: Understanding Your Credit Score - Recording
    This session will cover the basics of a credit score and a credit report. You will learn what is on a credit report, factors that determine a credit score, the purpose of a credit report, and tips that can help you improve your score.

  • August 18: Borrowing Basics - No Recording Available
    Understand the basics of borrowing money and how to develop a healthy borrowing relationship during this session. Through understanding basic lending terms and the different types of personal loans, you can increase your borrowing health.

  • September 15: I am Not a Robot: Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft - Recording

    Anyone can become a victim of identity theft. Having the capability to protect and/or defended against unauthorized use of your personal information is vital. This session will define what identity theft is, who is affected by it and ways to protect yourself from being a victim. 

  • October 20: To Own or Not to Own - Recording

    Are you financially ready to purchase a home? Learn the pros and cons of renting vs. owning, how to determine your readiness to own, the types of mortgages available and much more!
