During times of crisis, Parent & Family Programs strives to keep parents informed
through social media and email updates. In emergency situations, the LSU Emergency
Operations Center disperses information throughout the LSU community, and Parent &
Family Programs works to relay that information to families.
The first line of communication in the event of an emergency is the LSUalert System, which is available to students, faculty, and staff. Having your student subscribe to this service will ensure that all emergency communications are delivered directly to their cell phone.
Since parents and family members cannot sign up for the LSUalert System, we encourage you to download the LSU Mobile App to receive these messages. You must allow the app to send push-notifications in order to receive a copy of emergency text notifications.
