College of Engineering, ISC Constructors Celebrate Relationship With Ribbon Cutting

Dean and ISC cutting the ribbon on conference room.BATON ROUGE, LA – The ties between the LSU College of Engineering and ISC Constructors LLC run deep.

Co-founders and owners Eddie Rispone and Jerry Rispone both graduated from the college—so did Eddie’s sons Thad and Kevin, as well as Jerry’s wife Bronwen, his son Lane, his daughter Blair, and his son-in-law David Lentz. ISC President Donnie David and Executive Vice President Glen Gulino also call LSU Engineering their alma mater, as do 57 other employees at ISC.

This year also marks 25 years of giving by ISC to the college.

On Tuesday, Aug. 15, the college and ISC furthered their relationship with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the ISC Constructors LLC Conference Room in the Dean’s Suite of Patrick F. Taylor Hall.

“ISC is honored to further our long-standing partnership with the College of Engineering and together, prepare students to lead, said Jerry Rispone. “We are only as good as our people, and it is our responsibility to be committed leaders by developing curriculums that are beneficial to the students and their future in the industry.

Indeed, Eddie was involved in the creation of the LSU Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management’s Construction Industry Advisory Council. Jerry has chaired and continues to serve on the Division of Electrical & Computer Engineering Industry Advisory Council and was instrumental in establishing the ECE IAC Endowed Fund.

ISC and its founders have also established multiple professorships in construction management and electrical and computer engineering in the college and contributed to the ECE Advisory Board Endowed Fund, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering’s Steel Bridge Team Fund, Construction Management Development Fund, and the Taylor Hall and Chemical Engineering Building Project Fund.

It’s also one of the top employers of LSU Engineering graduates.

“ISC has made many important contributions to the College of Engineering over the last 25 years, but perhaps most importantly, it has been one of the top, if not the top employer of our graduates over the last several years,” said Judy Wornat, dean of the College of Engineering. “We are very grateful for all that ISC and the Rispone Family have done for the college.”

For all of their contributions, both Eddie and Jerry were inducted into the College of Engineering’s Hall of Distinction in 2013. ISC has also been named to the LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Business list in 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2017.
