Kyla Martin, MS - (she/her/hers)
Summer Steib has served as the director of the Women’s Center since August 2012. She is a native of Baton Rouge and holds degrees from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the University of Alabama, where she attained a Master of Arts in Women Studies.
As part of her duties as director of the LSU Women’s Center, Steib serves on the University Council on Gender Equity, is a specially trained hearing officer for Student Accountability, is a member of the Diversity Action Team, a trained advocate with the Lighthouse Program, serves on the Diversity, Inclusion, and Civic Engagement Advisory Board for student athletes and is an elected member of LSU Staff Senate.
Kyla Martin joined the Womens Center as the Graduate Assistant (GA) in Fall 2020. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at LSU in Leadership and Human Resource Development and holds a B.A. in Mathematics and a M.S. in College Student Development.
In her role as the GA for the Women’s Center she works to advance and achieve goals of the LSU Women’s Center and the University Council on Gender Equity (UCGE) through programming, awareness building, and trainings. She also supports the Women’s Center Student Staff in program development and general management of the Center.
