Participants chosen for Leadership LSU exhibit the capacity to learn and impact others positively through their leadership experiences. Active participation in Leadership LSU will challenge students to sharpen leadership skills and abilities, regardless of career choice. The program is open to all LSU Juniors, Seniors, Graduate Students, Law Center Students and Veterinary Medicine students. National Student Exchange and International Student Exchange students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in Leadership LSU.
The aim of Leadership LSU is to hone the leadership skills that participants have previously developed while broadening the lens through which they view complex, societal challenges. Participation in Leadership LSU is a recognition of applicants' leadership. However, it carries with it an expectation that chosen participants will commit to learning from others and to positively impacting others through the program. Active participation is a must for this experience.
When making a recommendation, you will be asked to upload a reference letter for the
student applying for Leadership LSU. Your reference should speak to the leadership
abilities the applicant has developed in the past and their willingness to engage
with others to explore leadership in a cohort setting. Please speak to the applicant's
ability to engage with and challenge others in a respectful, inclusive environment
while addressing complex issues.
