Benefits and Retirement Orientation

As a new employee, you are encouraged to attend the Benefits and Retirement Orientation within two weeks of your start date. Orientation will provide you with information on LSU, employee benefits, retirement plans and parking permits. Employees eligible for benefits have 30 days from the date of hire (or date of eligibility) to complete enrollment documents and submit them to the Office of Human Resource Management.

The Benefits and Retirement Orientation is held in-person on the first and third Monday of every month; if a Monday falls on a University holiday, Orientation takes place on Tuesday. Orientation takes place at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore on the 2nd floor. Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. Orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes by 12:00 p.m. Free parking is offered the day of Orientation on the RAMP the attached parking garage on E Campus Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Please bring a picture ID and a pencil/pen with you. If you need to get your temporary parking permit, please also bring your vehicle registration. A mask or facial covering is encouraged but not required for the duration of Orientation.

You will automatically be registered for Benefits and Retirement Orientation through the Training and Event Registration website once your hire is complete in Workday. Being placed on the waiting list does not ensure a reserved spot in Orientation. Questions can be emailed to hrmtraining@lsu.edu.

Online New Employee Orientation
