Spring Invitational (SPIN)

"I attended SPIN last spring. Coming from out of state, Atlanta, GA, it did require a little bit of commitment on my part because I had to miss school and travel to LSU, but I do not regret it in the least. It solidified for me that LSU was the place I wanted to go. I'm also grateful I had the opportunity to take tests because I received several hours of credit. The breakout sessions were useful and my group's ambassadors were a lot of fun. I was able to meet people in business majors that I still see in class and around campus now. SPIN was also the place where I met my roommate and suite mates for the first time! I'm am very glad that SPIN was an option for me and that I chose to attend."

Students with outstanding academic records are welcome to participate in the prestigious LSU Spring Invitational program April 5 - 6, 2018

Throughout this program, a team of LSU students, faculty, and staff will be devoted to you. You are one of the best students in LSU’s 2018 freshman class, and the efforts and resources of this entire LSU community will be at your service, ready to help you succeed and make the most of your college career.

The LSU Spring Invitational Program’s testing sessions, orientation programs, scheduling privileges, and social activities provide significant benefits. Earning advanced standing credit for college courses could significantly reduce your college costs. You will find yourself in extraordinary company—the students invited to the program rank in the top 15 percent of the nation’s high school seniors.

Spring Invitational will serve as your orientation program. If you attend this orientation program, you will not need to attend any of the freshman orientation programs scheduled in June and July. At Spring Invitational you can expect to:

  • Attempt to earn college credit before you take a college course.
  • Learn about campus life, programs, and services.
  • Schedule your classes with first priority. You will have the privilege of scheduling fall and/or summer courses prior to the normal freshman registration period. This means you have the first choice for freshman fall courses at the time you want. To take advantage of priority scheduling, plan to remain on campus until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018.
  • Receive personal and academic advice.
  • Learn about LSU’s academic opportunities.
  • Experience Tiger spirit and life as an LSU student.
  • Meet faculty and staff to learn about the numerous resources LSU has to offer.

Remember, space is limited and reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
