Alpha Pi Mu

American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Student Chapter (AIAA)

The AIAA Student Chapter at LSU is open to all college students interested in aerospace engineering and science. The Chapter provides members with opportunities to network with other students, engineers, and organizations, to design and research aerospace systems, and to promote aerospace engineering and science within the community.  Members can participate in Student Chapter meetings, joint meetings between the Student Chapter and the Greater New Orleans (GNO) Section of the AIAA, industry/NASA tours, invited lectures given by world-recognized aerospace leaders and engineers, and local and national design competitions.  Interested students can contact the following individuals for information:

Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE)

Founded in 1948, IISE is an international, nonprofit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial engineering. IEs figure out a better way to do things and work in a wide array of professional areas, including management, manufacturing, logistics, health systems, retail, service, and ergonomics. They influence policy and implementation issues regarding topics such as sustainability, innovation, and Six Sigma. Like the profession, IEs are rooted in the sciences of engineering, the analysis of systems, and the management of people.
