LSU Students, please read the following information carefully!
The LSU School of Theatre will be holding auditions for its spring shows starting on Saturday, November 18. Auditions will be held for the mainstage production of NICKEL AND DIMED, by Joan Holden, directed by Shana Gold (bio attached) and Amy Herzberg, and the Lab shows LOVE/SICK by John Cariani, directed by Joe Carleton and WOYZECK by Georg Büchner, translated by Rob Melrose, directed by Kyra Smith
Auditions will be held according to the following schedule:
Saturday, November 18 – 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM – General Auditions, Studio Theatre
Sunday, November 19 – 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM Callbacks NICKEL AND DIMED, Studio Theatre
Sunday, December 3 - 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Callbacks LOVE/SICK and WOYZECK, Studio Theatre and rm 135
Sign up for a time block on the Audition Board (outside of the Theatre office, MDA 105).
Please prepare one 90-second contemporary monologue (Mid-20th century forward). Choose a character from a play you know and a character you feel drawn to and in which you might conceivably be cast.
Bring two headshots and two résumés to the audition. At this stage, you don’t need a professional headshot but be sure the photo is representative of your current appearance. No Social Media event/party photos please.
Please review the School of Theatre Undergraduate Handbook for important Casting and Rehearsal requirements as well as the Declaration of Professional Principles and Practices BEFORE coming to audition.
Scripts for all of the shows are available through Community Moodle on the LSU Theatre Resources page. Community Moodle can be accessed through your myLSU account. If you did not access Community Moodle earlier this academic year, you will need to e-mail Janaé Mitchell at email@example.com for access.
