About Curriculum Camp
Curriculum Camp is an annual international conference for graduate students, organized
and hosted by LSU students enrolled in the Curriculum Theory Project. Led under the
guidance of CTP co-directors Dr. Petra Munro Hendry and Dr. Roland Mitchell, the conference
allows a diverse group of graduate students to present their research and network
with peers and leaders in the curriculum theory field.
LSU Curriculum Camp is designed to showcase the work of graduate students engaged
in research on a host of subjects, such as curriculum theory, gender, race, culture,
higher education research (K-20), policy analysis, political and/or intellectual thought
(including but not limited to narrative, feminisms, postmodernism, poststructuralism,
queer theory, chaos and complexity theory).
Every year, CTP invites a distinguished scholar who has contributed greatly to curriculum theory in academia or in practice. Since the first curriculum camp in 1995, more than 20 curriculum scholars have spoken at Curriculum Camp as fireside speakers, including Dr. Nel Noddings, Dr. William Pinar, Dr. Janet Miller, Dr. Cameron McCarthy, Dr. Greg Dimitriadis, Dr. Hongyu Wang, Dr. Gert Biesta, Dr. Elaine Richardson, Dr. Alecia Youngblood Jackson, and more.
