Q: Why did you choose LSU?

A: I chose LSU because both of my parents attended LSU and met in vet school, so purple and gold have been in my veins since I was born!

Q: Why did you choose Pre-Occupational Therapy as your major?

A: I chose my major because I'm a huge people-person and my personal golden rule has always been to help people as much as possible. I knew I wanted to be in the medical field but not too committed to my job so I would be able to have a family! I figured therapy was the best choice because I could focus all of my attention on bettering someone else's life, which is what being a human is all about!

Q: What are you most excited for this semester?

A: This semester I'm most excited about being very involved on campus and being able to fill my planner up with the best activities! Although it's nice to be able to hang out with little responsibility, I also enjoy being a busy bee and interacting with so many different individuals! During football season is when the most passion comes out of the LSU student body, so I'm excited for that as well!

Q: Why did you apply to be a CHSE Ambassador?

A: I applied to be a CHSE Ambassador because I wanted to get involved academically. I realized how many connections I could make being an ambassador as well as how far it could propel me ALONG my path towards becoming an Occupational Therapist. I didn't even think twice before applying!

Q: What advice would you give to someone contemplating your major?

A: The advice I would give is to make sure you love what you are majoring in. It's easy to say you want to be a "specific something"  when you grow up, but it's a whole different ball game when you actually shadow or observe in that field. You have to love what you do in order to be successful. Being passionate about your work or job makes your mood more positive and contributes positively to your surroundings. As they say, if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life!

Q: What is something that surprised you about LSU or CHSE?

A: Something that surprised me about LSU is how diverse and friendly everyone is. I know the South is known for its southern hospitality, but LSU just makes you feel at home. There are so many types of people all over campus that you can make a friend anywhere and everywhere, and it's really cool to see how so many individuals interact throughout a regular school day.

Q: What do you plan to do with your degree once you graduate?

A: Once I graduate, I plan to become an Occupational Therapist and hopefully open my own clinic one day!

An interesting fact about me is that when my parents first started working as veterinarians, they would put me in a dog kennel with all my toys so I wouldn't crawl around and hurt myself or get into trouble without them knowing where I was! (And I was totally content with it!)

My dream job would be to own my own therapy clinic that catered to all ages and all defects.

My favorite LSU tradition is when the Golden Band unfolds onto the field and plays the pregame song. The drums build up the anticipation for me and when the entire band plays the first note towards the student section, I get the goosebumps! Every. Single. Time.
